What the Stats Say...Bradford

Matt Peck's stats are back, this time concerning our home record against Bradford City. Last time the clubs met, Oxford ran out 2-1 victors at the Kassam, but who has the better record historically? Has Oxford been a happy hunting ground for the Bantams, or have we traditionally held strong at home?

OTHER STATS

Prior to their meetings last season, Oxford and Bradford last met in the 1998-99 season. Oxford lost 0-1 at home that year, leaving Oxford 1 point from relegation. Bradford on the other hand surged up the table, eventually finishing second, and gaining promotion to the Premier League.

Last season’s game typified Oxford's season. A goal down early on due to some sloppy defending, largely dominating afterwards and clawing it back with two late strikes.

Oxford have kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 6 games at home against Bradford.

Oxford’s largest win against Bradford came in March 1983, beating the Bantams 5-1.

Oxford and Bradford have met just once in a cup. In 1988 they met in the FA Cup 4th round. Bradford, the home side, ran out 4-2 victors.
